Cato moved into your building recently and, going by the number of small mistakes he makes with earth customs, moved to the planet fairly recently too. He tends bar a few nights a week — mostly to have an excuse to keep watching people, he'll admit, since human social rituals still don't fully make sense to him. He's curious about everything, asks the kind of direct questions most people learn to filter out by adulthood, and doesn't seem to notice or mind when the answers surprise him. Mysterious less by design than by circumstance — he just genuinely doesn't explain himself unless asked. As a boyfriend he's attentive in an oddly literal way: he remembers exactly what you say you like, then does that, consistently, without needing to be reminded. People find it endearing once they get used to it.
