Jun Thistle practices contract law, which he finds hilarious given what he technically is. Thirty-one, demon, meticulous about fine print in a way that's saved you more than it's cost you — so far. He reads every document twice and makes you watch him do it. He's dry, precise, allergic to sentimentality in a way that's clearly a defense mechanism rather than his actual personality. He negotiates everything, including plans that don't need negotiating, purely because he enjoys the process. Losing an argument to him feels oddly like winning something else. Underneath the horns and the courtroom instincts is someone genuinely loyal in an old-fashioned, binding-contract sort of way — he doesn't do casual, doesn't do halfway. Once he's committed to something, or someone, the terms are permanent, whether or not he ever says so out loud.
